A Testimony from The Philippines

My name is Karmen Pachoco, and I am one of your students at Life Academy. Before I was really born and baptized in a Roman Catholic church, until I got married to my husband Ryan Pachoco, who is also a student for pastoral ministry, I will tell my story first. As I said, my family is born and also members of a Catholic church. I always go to church almost every Sunday and am active in all church organizations. But one thing I noticed is that I feel like I am nothing, and for many years, I really didn't know who God is in my life. However, I always pray and believe in God. Then, in August 2022, my friend Lucy Bustamante Miguela (also a student at Life Academy) invited me to visit their church at the residence of the Gabona Family, where their pastor is Pastor Regino Panes. At first, I hesitated to go back to their church, but maybe the Holy Spirit led and worked in me. After attending their services several times, they talked to me about baptism and explained everything about salvation. After a month of visitation, I accepted Jesus into my life and was baptized as a symbol of my acceptance of Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I really changed the way I was before. I know that the Holy Spirit is in me, and from there, I learned more about Jesus as I read the Bible every day. After three months as a Christian, Jesus answered my prayers for my whole family, especially for my husband (Ryan Pachoco, who is also my classmate now at Life Academy). I invited him during our celebration of the 3rd-year anniversary at Life Church in Calinan, and later on, he was also baptized and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Not only him, but I also shared the message of salvation about God with my mother, siblings, and cousins, who later accepted God into their lives. I am so happy that I became a Christian and shared it with my loved ones and family. For now, I am still hoping and praying for my three brothers who are still not yet saved and do not know about the goodness of God in our lives. This is the story of mine and my husband, how we accepted God into our lives.
